IKEA Unveils Its Vegetarian Meatball Option

IKEA has launched its line of vegetarian meatballs.

The home furnishing store that had been the subject of controversy after it was discovered its real meatballs had horse meat in them, is perhaps making amends for such a taboo by showing it can not only be more ethical, but healthy too.

Known as GRÖNSAKSBULLAR, the plant-based alternatives are described as “tasty chunks of vegetables and a good protein level to support a main meal.”

And unlike IKEA’s furniture, the vegetarian meatballs are pre-made, so there’s no confusing instructions for how to eat or put them together.

You can find them in almost every IKEA store in the United States.

A plate of 10 goes for approximately $5.
