Cory Booker Dinner With Ted Cruz — The Meat Cowboy And Veggie Debate

Cory Booker has proved that Democrats and Republicans can get along and work together — from the Congressional floor to the dinner table.
He met with Republican senator Ted Cruz over a meal to discuss some of the more pressing issues facing the nation, particularly the economy.
If the two agreed on anything, at least it was where to eat that day.
“First of all, he’s a Texas meat-eating cowboy, I’m a Jersey boy, vegetarian, so choosing the restaurant alone,” Booker said to “Good Day New York” about the experience.
That decision may not have been so difficult after all.
Cruz’s wife, Heidi, happens to be a vegetarian.
He’s probably had a few meatless meals here and there so even eating at Lentil Land would not have been that hard of a transition.
The two reportedly chose a spot very close to the Capitol, where they spent three hours in discussion.
Booker reported they “found some good areas” they agreed on.
Thank goodness for that.
If it came down to the entree, they’d still be in filibuster.
