Tom Scholz Receives PETA Compassionate Action Award

Tom Scholz is not only one of the most famous legendary rocker and rollers.
He’s also one of the original founding members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
The musician most known for his work with the band Boston recently received the Compassionate Action Award from the animal rights organization.
PETA’s founder and president Ingrid Newkirk presented vegetarian Scholz the award during a stop on her “Naked Truth” tour in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Scholz became a vegetarian in the 70s after former band member Brad Delph introduced him to the lifestyle.
During the ceremony, Scholz told the audience to not just follow a cruelty-free lifestyle but to be a leader and help others choose the path as well.

Tom Scholz has been a generous supporter and advocate of PETA for 30 years. He should be named their person of the year in 2014.
