Kate del Castillo: Fiercely Protect Your Companion Animals

Mexican actress Kate del Castillo, named one of the “25 most influential women” by People en Español and star of Telemundo series La Reina del Sur, took on a new role of protecting animals for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

Holding her rescue dog Lola, Castillo urges pet owners to “never leave animals to fend for themselves.”

“My dog Lola depends not only on me for food, shelter and basic needs, but also for love and from protection and harm, including bad weather, cruel people, other animals and cars. Please fiercely defend your animals by never leaving them outside unattended or chained. And never allowing them to roam in the streets. Keep them indoors where it’s safe.”

A behind the scenes interview with Castillo can be viewed below.

PETA. Let me tell you about PETA. The animal shelters PETA runs we’re investigated because they had a higher kill rate than any other animal shelters. A staggering 92 percent of the cats and dogs they took in we’re killed. I lived in Virginia when this happened. They were caught dumping the remains of dogs and cats into dumpsters behind other businesses. The city confirmed most of the dead animals (killed by PETA mind you) were perfectly healthy before being killed. They have he audacity to tell people to not eat meat or treat animals bad when they themselves killed thousands of animals to save money. They believe animals are better off dead than as pets. They are the westboro baptist church of animal rights groups. People need to seriously think twice before attaching their name to a group like PETA.
