Ady Gil, animal lover, founder of American Hi Definition and Sweetwater Digital and benefactor to the Sea Shepherd Society, is aiming to save more turkeys this year with your help.

From now until November 25th, Gil will sponsor an additional turkey for every one sponsored through Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Turkey program.

He originally offered to sponsor another turkey up to $20,000, but after that amount was raised in just a few short days, he raised the offer to $50,000!

“Thanksgiving is a symbolic holiday,” said Gil, in a press release. “I don’t believe we should celebrate by killing another species. Every animal, including turkeys, deserves to see the light of day, go to sleep and wake up without finding themselves on someone’s plate. This is a time to show people that we can celebrate without causing suffering.”

Russell Brand Won’t Keep Tiger In Apartment With Him And Katy (Video)

Russell Brand

Russell Brand is addressing the rumor that he bought Katy Perry a tiger for their wedding, emphasizing not only is it against his ethics as a vegetarian, but it’s just plain dumb and dangerous!

“I’m a vegetarian, you don’t give people tigers, it’s stupid, it’s dangerous, and the tigers don’t like it,” Brand said.

Yes, having wild animals as pets leads to nothing but tragedy, as we’ve seen with Travis the Chimp and other stories, like the man in Harlem, New York, who kept an 8 foot long, 400-pound tiger in his apartment.

Police were tipped off when a neighbor complained of urine seeping through the floor into an adjacent apartment after kitty refused to use the little box on more than one occasion. The tiger was transferred to a sanctuary that won’t offer him a high-rise view of the city, but a more natural, safer place for him and humans.

I used a photo of my first child, Cookie aka dabooboo, and I’m sending it to friends, family and business contacts to spread holiday cheer. I chose the invitation design and added in the party details which only took two minutes!”

Anyone wishing to create their personalized card can do so at Cafe Press and choose their charity of choice that will benefit, which includes Greenpeace, Breastcancer.org., Operation Gratitude and Rock The Vote.

Alicia Silverstone

Oh, say it isn’t so!

Alicia Silverstone, vegan queen, cookbook author, blogger and activist, has admitted to occasionally cheating on her vegan diet by having cheese here and there.

At an EcoTools party, she told US Magazine, “If I was at a party and there was a tray of cheese sitting there and I had had drinks, then I might have a bite.”

“It’s human. It’s a really good reminder that sometimes you need to have what you remember is this good thing. Because then you have it, and you’re like, ‘Actually that wasn’t better than the recipes in my book.”

Bob Barker

When it comes to fashion, Bob Barker knows what’s in style and it’s not fur.

During an interview with Stylist, the vegetarian and animal rights activist explained how his wife got him on the right track to what’s trendy.

“My wife stopped wearing fur 35 years ago, and she wasn’t trying to influence me, but by example she did. I had several leather jackets and coats with sheepskin that I gave away. I stopped wearing leather belts and then stopped wearing leather completely. And this was all before I became a vegetarian about 32 or 33 years ago.”
