Pregnant Bethenny Frankel Goes Gitty For Paps Before Her Wedding!

Bethenny Frankel is about 7 months pregnant now, and she’s definitely feeling the effects, including having to urinate every couple of hours and bloating.

She said that her face was “literally deformed so much that I look like a different person.”

To cut down on bloating, Frankel has reduced her salt intake and has taken to eating mostly vegetarian.

This shouldn’t be hard, given the fact she’s already demonstrated cooking dozens of vegetarian recipes.

Processed meats, such as bacon, sausage, deli cuts, hot dogs and frozen dinners can be full of sodium, and a group called the Center for Science in the Public Interest has urged the USDA to establish maximum levels of sodium content in these foods.

Recently, some studies have found the risk of developing heart disease and diabetes in those who consume processed meats greater than those who don’t.

The red tape of Capitol Hill can be thicker than oatmeal you forget to add enough water to.

Why wait for the government to say certain levels of salt in meat is “healthy?”

Whether you’re pregnant or not, cut all meat from your diet and always be able to recognize yourself in the mirror.

Sarah Palin Brags Of Killing Her Organic Meat

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, April 26th, 2010 in Not So Vegetarian, Politicians.

An Intimate Evening with Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin is up to her old annoyances of raving about her hobby of eating, killing and using animals.

While in Eugene, Oregon to address a crowd of fellow Republicans, she told reporters she is into eating organic.

Not necessarily produce, though.

“I eat granola. I eat a lot of organic food,” she said. “I have to catch and kill it before I eat it. It’s all organic.”

Oh, boy.

Is this what we’ll expect to see during her new Discovery Channel show tentatively titled Sarah Palin’s Alaska?

Probably not.

According to ex potential son-in-law Levi Johnston, Sarah’s hunting skills are bravado cause she doesn’t even know how to use a gun.

Johnston told Vanity Fair:

“She says she goes hunting and lives off animal meat — I’ve never seen it. I’ve never seen her touch a fishing pole. She had a gun in her bedroom and one day she asked me to show her how to shoot it. I asked her what kind of gun it was, and she said she didn’t know, because it was in a box under her bed.”

Let’s hope it stays under her bed for everyone’s, two and four legged, sake.

Lea Michele Shares Mom’s Vegan Friendly Lasagna Recipe (Video)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Monday, April 26th, 2010 in Actresses, Food & Drink, Recipes, Videos.

Lea Michele recently became a vegan, but that doesn’t stop the Italian Glee actress from enjoying a plate of lasagna.

“I’m part of a traditional Italian family, so when I became a vegan, my mother learned how to make a version of lasagne I could still enjoy,” Lea said. “The idea of possibly going through the rest of my life without eating it was very upsetting!”

Lea is sharing her mother’s recipe for vegetable lasagna roll ups in the May issue of InStyle.

Vegan lasagna is incredible easy to make.

Substituting dairy cheese for a soy version like Chicago Soy Dairy’s “Teese” or Follow Your Heart “Vegan Gourmet” or “Tofutti” is the quickest way.

For a soft, more traditional ricotta cheese, soft or silken tofu seasoned with plum vinegar and soy sauce give taste alike versions even a non vegan would enjoy.

Eden Organic has a vegetable lasagna that utilizes such a tofu ricotta in one of their many recipes online.

Bet she’ll even make her own vegetarian baby food, something a registered dietitian from Vegetarian Resource Group says is easy to do and includes recipes for suggestion on the group’s website.
