Heather Mills Has A New Look And A New Cause?

Heather Mills is competing in this season’s Dancing On Ice, which premiers tonight at 9PM on ITV1.

According to The Evening Times, Heather took the time to bring vegan cakes to the show’s participants this year, but is trying to stay away from the dairy and egg free desserts herself.

“I am looking forward to wearing my catsuits but I’ve had to be careful not to put weight on and stay off my vegan chocolate muffins!” Heather said, according to The Sun.

Fattening up the competition is a great way to gain an edge.

MacBeth shoes gets a lot of press for its vegan line from celebrities like Hunter Burgan, but has Jason Mraz given TOMS Shoes a publicity boost as well?

The musician was reportedly sporting a pair during what was called a “super chill interview.”

The shoes Jason is wearing look similar to the Dolina line, but the Dolinas are described as having leather insoles.

Is there a Dolina vegan line not yet available to the public?

TOMS does however, have its share of vegan shoes, including a style created to benefit Charlize Theron‘s charity.

“MTV Real World”–Who Would You (The Vegan Edition)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 in Polls/Surveys, Reality TV, Who Would You.

It’s been years since the original MTV Real World cast member Eric Nies took off his shirt and enticed the ladies (and maybe the gentlemen) with his ripped abs.

Nies went on to become a vegan life coach.

Now, Callie from Texas on Real World XXIII, a female young enough to be Nies’ daughter is already ahead of the game, proudly announcing she’s already taken the road less traveled by cattle.

Would a vegan have even come out of the closet on MTV over a decade ago?

Between the two Real World stars, who would you rather do…

Are you a regular bacon person who always wanted to secretly look at soy bacon, but felt dirty about cheating?

Check out the Huffington Post’s slide on “Fake Meats: The Delicious and Dirty” to see how burgers, hot dogs and other faux meats can turn you on without turning your cholesterol level up.

“The Goode Family” Returns To Comedy Central

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 in Film & TV, Pop Culture.

the_goode_family_cast

Che the vegan dog will once again get to cheat on his diet by eating the stray neighborhood pets.

The Goode Family has returned to television, this time on Comedy Central instead of ABC.

What killed the recycling, veg eating, tree hugging, liberal family?

Big balls, according to Joe Hipps, vice president of TV production at Media Rights Capital.

“Its lead-in was ‘Wipeout,’ a game show with big red balls throwing people into the water,” Hipps said. “And then you’re going into a talky animated show? It never had a chance.”

Much like those poor alley cats never stood a chance when Che got a craving for something other than textured soy dog biscuits.

Wait. Stop joking about that. It’s only a little bit funny.

Now that The Goode Family is on the same cable television station home to the bad boys of  South Park, the family might have the opportunity to get a little dirtier–and that doesn’t mean tending to the organic vegetables in the backyard.

“Even though they were very professional about it, the censorship standards on ABC are very tight,” said John Altschuler, one of executive producers of the show, who said the team received a few dings, what some would call censorship. “You can do an awful lot about sex, but not about political thought. You can’t deal with race at all.”

Looking forward to seeing The Goode Family biking through town at 10PM Mondays on Comedy Central, opening their mouths and offending nearly everyone while reminding them to compost.
