Paula Deen Hams It Up For The Holidays Again

Written by Vegetarian Star on Wednesday, November 25th, 2009 in Chefs, Not So Vegetarian.

Paula Deen - 'The Deen Family Cookbook'

It’s like pork Deja Vu all over again, this time creepier, with more killing and saturated fat.

This year for the holidays, Paula Deen donated a lot of ham to charity–25,000 pounds to be exact.

But it was the ham that bit back as someone threw the ham like a football and it smacked Paula in the face.

The Associated Press reported Paula said she was okay and it just “knocked me for a little bit” and she later Tweeted, “I’ve never met a ham that hasn’t stopped me yet.”

But ham, along with other meat, can stop people with its saturated fat and cholesterol levels, not to mention the horrible conditions pigs are kept in factory farms that send a personal invitation to diseases like swine flu.

Let that smack on the head serve as a wake up call, Paula.

Ruben Studdard invited the company of a vegan chef over recently.

From a recent Tweet:

“Yall I have a Vegan Chef coming over tonight to teach me how to make a few dishes. Check out my blog site tonight for pictures of the meal.”

Ah, to have your own personal veggie chef…No more frozen beans and rice dishes.

Will Ruben hire a permanent personal chef like Red Hot Chili Peppers front man Anthony Kiedis?

If you’re in the San Fransisco area and in need of a personal vegan chef, why not give Jesse Miner a call?

A longtime vegan himself, Jesse has been featured in VegNews magazine and received the Personal Chefs Network 2008 Pacesetter Award.

“Sex feels good, but we don’t go around having sex with anyone that attracts our attention. We say no to lots of things that would please us. I would like to punch people every now and then, but I don’t. I would like to have something for free rather than pay for it. I would like to skip to the front of the line… I don’t mean to brush aside the taste of meat, which is a powerful attraction. But its power is not without limit.”

—-Jonathan Safran Foer, answering the question of “What do I say to the idiotic line, “But they taste good” ???” during a online discussion of his book, Eating Animals.

Yeah, it never pays to be a meat slut. Ruins your health and reputation.

Ginnifer Goodwin Funny Farm Sanctuary PSA Outtakes (Video)

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 in Food & Drink, Videos.

Ginnifer Goodwin is starring in Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Turkey PSA this year and it took more than one take to get a decent 30 second commercial.

Here are some hilarious Farm “bloopers” with Ginnifer and her cow and turkey co-stars.

“A little bit more ladylike,” Ginnifer advises as a turkey eats apples from a bowl.

Then there’s the cow who takes a break to “lick its ball.”

The DVD series of these would sell more than Girls Gone Wild.

Sinitta X Factor Fountain Studios–Fur Real Or Fur Fake

Written by Vegetarian Star on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 in Fur, Fur Real Or Fur Fake, Reality TV.

The X Factor judge Dannii Minogue and show's mentor Sinitta are seen leaving Fountain Studios in Wembley

Simon Cowell knew Linda McCartney faux sausages had the X Factor.

But if his assistant and X Factor mentor Sinitta is wearing real fur trim, she definitely isn’t a star.

What is with this bizarre looking accessory on her coat, anyway?

Seems as if an animal is crawling around her neck, hoping to pop out any minute to get its 5 minutes of fame on TV.

Of course, Sinitta probably knows the only way to wear a fur is to wear one more artificial than John and Edward’s (aka “Divas of Dublin”) gel preserved hairdos.

Your vote counts.

Is Sinitta keeping her X Factor by faking it?

Or is she fur real?

Jonathan Safran Foer‘s trailer for Eating Animals features the very creature Jonathan used to despise–the dog!

“I had a particular lack of enthusiasm for dogs—inspired, in large part, by a related fear that I inherited from my mother, which she inherited from my grandmother,” Jonathan said.

Jonathan discusses french kisses with the dog, dinners with grandma and how his wife’s pregnancy with his first son prompted him to write his latest book in the trailer.

Will Stella’s spring collection feature pastel colored sun dresses named after daughter Bailey?
