More from the Vegetarian Times interview with Chris Walla:

“Were it not for our freezer stash of Amy’s Frozen meals, the bus would be a much grumpier place. Eating healthy makes it easier to get along.”

They’re smiling, so they must have had some of Amy’s burritos recently. And what’s with the hand over the mouth-is he belching?

Death Cab For Cutie Play Sydney

The October 2008 issue of Vegetarian Times features a short Q&A session with Death Cab For Cutie’s Chris Walla with writer Gabrielle Harradine. Check your mail, it’s probably there already. If you don’t subscribe, what the heck are you waiting for? Get your veggie butts to the grocery stands already!

Anyway, there is a site called Cooking With Rock Stars, which features, you guessed it, musicians and their favorite recipes. Chris Walla has his “Peanut Butter Veggie Sausage Toast,” recipe posted. In the interview with Harradine, he said:

“It sounds wrong, but it’s really good! Ideally, you use Lightlife Gimme Lean Sausage and Sourdough bread: Toast a slice of bread and spread peanut butter on it; then grill the sausage in your favorite oil, halve them lengthwise, salt to taste, and place them on the toasted bread.”

This sounds almost as bad as RZA’s veggie patty between waffles. But we have to trust Chris on this one. If anyone tries this out, please let us know!

One of Food Network’s most popular Celebrity Chefs and known for her role as an Iron Chef on “Iron Chef America” and her cookbook Cat Cora’s Kitchen, Cat Cora is teaming up with Morningstar Farms to show America how healthy cooking meatless can be.

“As a working mom, I understand how hard it can be to put a healthy homemade meal on the table,” she said.  “Morningstar Farms and I have come up with some easy ways to make eating well more manageable for the home cook.  I want families to understand that good food doesn’t require hours in the kitchen.”

Vegetarian Matthew Scully Writes Hunter Sarah Palin’s Speeches

Written by Vegetarian Star on Friday, September 5th, 2008 in Animal Issues, Politicians.

McCain Holds Campaign Rally In Washington, Pennsylvania

In some ways you could call Matthew Scully a well-rounded man. He is a vegetarian, who has published several books advocating animal rights, including Dominion: The Power of Man, The Suffering of Animals, and The Call to Mercy. He’s also a political writer and has made George W. Bush a very articulate sounding man by serving as special assistant and senior speechwriter for the president from 2001-2004.

So what makes him so well-rounded? He is writing speeches for Sarah Palin these days. In case you didn’t know, Palin has proclaimed herself an avid hunter. And although the two are as opposite as Paris Hilton and the Pope, the partnership seems to be working-for now.

Time Magazine made some speculations as to how long this relationship can last:

“The Palin-Scully pairing is anything but a guaranteed fit, though. Palin is known as an avid hunter; Scully is best known for his vigorous defense of animal rights. A vegetarian who is regularly critical of the NRA and much of the hunting community, he is a passionate advocate for doing away with the more brutal versions of blood-sport, including aerial hunting, which Palin supports.”

Moet & Chandon at Marc Jacobs Fall 2008

Ewww! If you’re a vegetarian or vegan and your spouse isn’t, would you still cook meat for them? Victoria Beckham doesn’t have a problem with that. But then again, it’s really the only thing this vegetarian knows how to cook. In an interview, she said:

“The only thing I can cook really is mince meat, which is ironic because I’m a vegetarian. But I like calzone and lasagna. I cooked every day in Spain so David and the boys lived off minced meat for four years. I cook a Sunday dinner every single Sunday I’ll have you know. My kids like Yorkshire pudding so I make that, I can make it from scratch and I make Dora the Explorer cakes for afters because the kids love them.”

Cookbook suggestions for our favorite Spice, anyone?

A lonely looking Paul McCartney going for a walk in London

Unlike his experience at Nick and Toni’s in the Hampton’s, Paul McCartney thought the perfect place to stick this food would be in his mouth.

Chef Aldo Zilli at Signor Zilli restaurant in Soho, London, prepared a menu specially for McCartney that consisted of five courses-all of which Paul ate, including avocado and mango salad, asparagus wrapped in leeks, chargrilled veg with mozzarella and goat’s cheese ravioli.

Yeah, we’d stick most of that in our mouths too.

2007 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show - Arrivals

I don’t wanna wait…For the tempeh special to be over.

James Van Der Beek and his wife Heather Combs were reported to have had lunch at a vegan restaurant in Beverly Hills, according to Starz Life.  He’s known best for his role of Dawson on the 90s T.V. series Dawson’s Creek. We really wish we had more details…but we don’t.

Yes, it would have been nice to know the name of the restaurant and what they ordered. We’re not even sure that ol’ Dawson and his gal are vegetarians. But one thing we know for sure: It’s darn cool.

It would also be interesting to know what purpose that pole is doing there. Might make a completely different celebrity story. Do you guys have any suggestions?
